Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Mason County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy governs its receipt and handling of the query.
Messages Sent to the Site
If you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the message and the details you include long enough to review and answer it. Contact messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary server, analytics, and advertising technologies can record technical details when a page loads. These details help operate the site and understand general traffic patterns. They may include:
- The internet protocol address associated with the request
- Browser name, browser version, and related settings
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps for visits and requests
Cookie Use
Cookies and similar technologies help show how visitors move through the site and may support analytics or advertising. Most browsers allow cookies to be limited, deleted, or blocked. Some site or partner features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Purposes for Using Data
- Keep pages available, responsive, and functioning as intended
- Send a search request to the appropriate third-party search provider
- Measure which Mason County release-record pages are useful to visitors
- Detect, diagnose, and repair security or technical problems
- Display advertising that may be selected according to likely interests
Government and Third-Party Links
The site links to sources such as the Mason County Sheriff and Jail, the Mason County Circuit Clerk, Illinois Department of Corrections, parole and probation resources, federal or immigration portals, legal information, and outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination’s own privacy notice and data practices apply. We do not control those systems.
Advertising providers may use their own technologies to recognize activity across websites and select targeted advertising. Any such cross-site tracking occurs through the provider’s systems and practices, not through a Mason County government record system operated by this site.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Depending on how a visitor uses the site, limited data may be processed by:
- Search partners that receive and respond to submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Advertising networks that deliver or evaluate advertisements
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies when disclosure is compelled by a valid court order, subpoena, or other lawful process
Public records reached through outbound links remain governed by the originating agency and applicable law, including the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. This privacy notice does not alter access rules for sheriff, court, IDOC, parole, federal, or immigration records.
Security Practices and Limits
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information handled by the site. Even careful security cannot make an internet-connected service completely secure. We do not promise that transmission, storage, or processing will be immune from intrusion, loss, misuse, or other security failures.
Visitors Younger Than 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, you may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data the site holds about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of personal data that may lawfully be erased
- Opt out of certain processing when that choice is available
These choices concern data held by this private site. A request to change a Mason County, Illinois, IDOC, court, probation, parole, BOP, or ICE source record must go to the agency responsible for that record. For a covered commercial criminal-record publisher, Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act §2QQQ, 815 ILCS 505/2QQQ, provides a distinct correction framework.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as the site, service providers, or legal requirements change. A revision becomes available on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after posting is governed by the updated notice.
